As a budding blogger, I aim to offer a fresh and authentic voice that brings everyday stories to life with a touch of humor, lots of honesty, and sincere heart—while also shedding light on the lived experience of disability. My content explores the ups and downs of modern living, from personal reflections to relatable chaos, alongside honest discussions about accessibility, navigating the world in a wheelchair, and the often-overlooked challenges and triumphs of living with a disability. Whether you're here for a laugh, insight, or to better understand inclusive living, my blog aims to connect, educate, and empower—one post at a time.

Accessibility

As a qualified occupational therapist and seasoned paraplegic, I am able to offer authentic, lived-experience insights into life with a disability—sharing honest reviews, practical advice, and accessibility-focused information to support others navigating similar paths. Whether you're looking for reliable recommendations, first-hand perspectives, or thoughtful commentary on accessibility in products, places, or everyday life, my content is created with the aim to inform, empower, and connect.

Universal Design

My skillset as an occupational therapist and my experience as a paraplegic, allow me to bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my universal design consultancy services. I work with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to create or adapt spaces that are functional, inclusive, and compliant with South Africa’s disability regulations. Whether you're navigating new accessibility needs or aiming to proactively design with inclusivity in mind, I offer practical, empathetic guidance tailored to real-world use.

ABOUT

About Wanda

At 57, I bring a wealth of lived experience shaped by both professional dedication and personal resilience. As a former occupational therapist, I was deeply engaged in building a growing practice when, at the age of 30, a sudden and traumatic accident on the beach resulted in a spinal injury that permanently altered the course of my life. At the time, I was also a mother to two young children, aged 4 and 7, and the impact of that event was profound—not only for me, but for my entire family.

What followed was a long journey of adaptation, strength, and transformation. Through perseverance, support, and an unwavering commitment to rebuilding, we not only adjusted to our new reality—we found ways to thrive within it.

That experience continues to shape my outlook, reinforcing a deep appreciation for resilience, connection, and the capacity of the human spirit to overcome even the most unexpected challenges.
